Following his run to the final of the QTerminals Qatar Classic last week, Frenchman Victor Crouin has moved up seven places in the World Rankings to a career-high, and has become the French No.1 for the first time in his career.

There are some other changes amongst the top 20 in the men’s rankings, and here is how the top 20 looks for the week beginning September 12.

Victor Crouin celebrates his semi-final win over Tarek Momen at the QTerminals Qatar Classic

New Ranking: World No.11

Previous Ranking: World No.18

France’s Victor Crouin was arguably the star of the show over the last week in Doha, as he got the better of two top ten players on the way to his first Platinum level final.

The Frenchman was part of the 9/16 bracket for the QTerminals Qatar Classic, and in his opening match of the week, he defeated Word No.7 Joel Makin, before then beating World No.6 Tarek Momen later in the week in the semi-finals.

Crouin, who started the week as the World No.18, has jumped up seven places to now sit at World No.11, his highest ever position in the World Rankings, and has now leapfrogged compatriot Gregoire Marche to become his nation’s leading player.

Mohamed ElShorbagy

New Ranking: World No.4

Previous Ranking: World No.5

After dropping out of the top three for the first time in almost a decade, England’s Mohamed ElShorbagy showed the squash world that he was back this week in Qatar.

ElShorbagy, who was the World No.5 prior to the event, took the QTerminals Qatar Classic title, his first major crown since winning in El Gouna in 2021. The victory sees him move about Peru’s Diego Elias and back into the world’s top four.
