Caballero Comes Through In Costa Rica

Nicolas Caballero came through an epic thriller in what was unquestionably the match of the day as qualification came to a close at the Costa Rica Tennis Club Open, PSA Challenger 15 event.

The Paraguayan prevailed in a five-game-thriller against Kale Wilson, gaining an 8-11, 11-0, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6 win in an absorbing encounter, earning him the distinction of meeting the main draw’s number one seed Alan Clyne when the opening round gets underway tomorrow.

Top seed Sunil Seth has also advanced to the main draw after the World No.129 produced a dominant performance to overcome local player Gabriel Bravo in straight games.

The 24-year-old will face a stern test as he clashes with Mohamed Reda who has 12 PSA World Tour titles to his name.

Mexico’s Erik Tepos Valtierra will join Seth and Caballero in the main draw after he bested second seed Josue Enriquez in a superb display whilst Cameron Stafford’s shock win over Sean Conroy sees the Cayman Islands player make it through as well as the pair face Eric Galvez and Diego Elias respectively.
