27 February 2023

Following their appearances in the finals of the Squash On Fire Open, Belgium’s Tinne Gilis and Egypt’s Mohamed ElSherbini have both risen to 14th in the Women’s and Men’s Road to Egypt standings.

The CIB PSA World Tour Finals includes both a men’s and women’s tournament featuring eight players each and brings together all PSA World Tour Platinum title winners. Any remaining places are allocated to the highest ranked players on the CIB Road to Egypt Standings, with points on offer at all PSA World Tour events during the season.

Gilis moved up two places courtesy of her victory over Amina Orfi, while ElSherbini rose by five places despite a defeat to France’s Victor Crouin, who remains in fifth.

So far, just Peru’s Diego Elias, England’s Mohamed ElShorbagy, Egypt’s Mostafa Asal and Egypt’s Ali Farag are guaranteed a place in the men’s World Tour Finals. In the race for a spot in the Women’s World Tour Finals, Egyptian trio Nouran Gohar, Nour El Sherbini and Hania El Hammamy are the only players certain to make an appearance.
