Sivasangari And Asal Named PSA World Tour Players Of The Month For March/April

3 May 2024

Sivasangari Subramaniam and Mostafa Asal have been named as the PSA World Tour Players of the Month for March/April.

Sivasangari received 65% of the votes to take the award in a poll on the PSA World Tour’s Instagram page, with Satomi Watanabe and Nouran Gohar the other nominees.

The award caps off a remarkable spell for Malaysian No.1 Sivasangari, who toppled World No.1 Nour El Sherbini, World No.4 Nele Gilis and World No.3 Hania El Hammamy on the way to clinching the London Classic – her maiden Gold-level title.

In March, Sivasangari was a semi finalist at the Squash in the Land 2024, losing out to Gina Kennedy, and was defeated by Gohar in the second round at the El Gouna International.

In the men’s vote, Asal gained 42% of the votes, fending off competition from New Zealand No.1 Paul Coll and Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng.

World No.3 Asal scooped his second title of the season in April, winning the Black Ball Squash Open where he defeated World No.1 Ali Farag in the final.

Asal was a semi finalist at the Optasia Championships, losing out to eventual winner Paul Coll, who he was runner up to at the London Classic before reaching the final of the El Gouna International where Farag triumphed.

Sivasangari and Asal are next in action at the PSA World Championships in Cairo between 9-18 May. You can watch it all live on SQUASHTV.
