Soliman Up to No.11 în PSA Men’s World Rankings

Egypt’s Youssef Soliman has moved up to a joint career-high ranking of No.11 following his runner-up finish at the Windsor Cup last week.

26-year-old Soliman reached the final of the Windsor Cup after beating Canadian wildcard Salah Eltorgman, USA’s Andrew Douglas and compatriot Yahya Elnawasany without dropping a game.

In his 15th PSA final, he was prevented from adding to his nine PSA titles by the experienced Tarek Momen. Despite fighting back from two games down, Soliman was unable to complete the comeback, with Momen taking the fifth to deny his fellow Egyptian.

Mohamed ElSherbini

New Ranking: No.16

Previous Ranking: No.18

Mohamed ElSherbini also enjoyed a promising week in Windsor, reaching the semi-finals, and he is rewarded with a career-high ranking of No.16.

The 30-year-old beat Hong Kong’s Henry Leung and Scotland’s Greg Lobban, both in four games, before being forced to retire from his semi-final match with eventual winner Tarek Momen due to injury.

New Ranking: No.27

Previous Ranking: No.29

Qatar’s Abdulla Mohd Al Tamimi has risen two spots to No.27 after a last 16 finish at the Windsor Cup.

Previous Ranking: No.32

Scotland’s Greg Lobban reached the quarter-finals of the Windsor Cup, beating Hungary’s Balazs Farkas in the second round, before falling to Mohamed ElSherbini in the last eight.

He is rewarded with a rise to No.31.
