Order of play:

El Hammamy v Sobhy

World No.3 Hania El Hammamy will face World No.5 Amanda Sobhy in the opening semi-final clash. Sobhy has been in electric form this week in Doha, scoring a major upset in the quarter-finals to defeat World No.1 Nouran Gohar in straight games.

Meanwhile, El Hammamy has bounced back from her disappointing third-round exit at the Paris Squash Platinum opener with a string of strong performances, seeing off Georgina Kennedy 3-1 for a spot in the last four.

The Egyptian edges the head-to-head record by six matches to four, and won their last encounter at the PSA World Championships last season. Both players will see this as a huge opportunity to reach a first Platinum final of the season.

El Sherbini v Gilis

After coming back from two games down to defeat World No.5 Joelle King in the third round, World No.10 Tinne Gilis continued her superb Qatar Classic form to edge past Egyptian Salma Hany and reach a maiden Platinum semi-final.

However, to continue this stellar run she will have to cause one more huge upset in the form of World No.1 Nour El Sherbini. The Egyptian looked in imperious form during her quarter-final victory over sister of Tinne, Nele Gillis, and will now be looking to cement her position as World No.1 after the shock exit of Gohar in the last-eight.

El Sherbini boasts a faultless 5-0 head-to-head record against her opponent, so Gilis will have to produce her very best squash to stand a chance of reaching the final in Doha.
