22 August 2024

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) is pleased to announce that Melissa Soobratty has been appointed to lead the organisation’s media and marketing strategy.

In her role as Head of Media & Marketing, Soobratty will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the PSA’s marketing and content strategies and expanding the association’s media operations.

Soobratty joins from World Table Tennis, where she served as Broadcast Director, and has over 20 years of experience in the sports industry, previously working at Football Marketing Asia, Endeavor Streaming, StarHub, Setanta Sports Africa, Fox Sports International and BBC Worldwide.

“30 minutes of squash has been scientifically proven to be the fittest cardio workout of any sport,” said Soobratty.

“With PSA’s thoughtful strategy that embraces digital, data and innovation, coupled with investment from Mark Walter and inclusion at the LA28 Olympic Games, it’s a fantastic time to be involved.”

PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough said: “We are delighted to welcome Melissa to the team during what is an exciting period for professional squash. Melissa’s extensive experience in the sports media industry will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow the sport around the world.

“Melissa joins us in the lead up to the LA28 Olympic Games, which will be major landmark for us as squash makes its first appearance on the world’s biggest sporting stage. Melissa will play a key role in increasing our content output and enhancing our marketing of the sport as we aim to turn our players into global stars.”

The announcement comes a week after the PSA unveiled its new rebrand and tour structure ahead of the 2024-25 season.
