Start Times

Nour El Sherbini v Rowan Elaraby

An all-Egyptian clash kicks off tonight’s play as defending champion Nour El Sherbini faces Rowan Elaraby.

World No.1 El Sherbini boasts a 100 per cent record over Elaraby, winning all seven of their previous meetings, with the last coming at last season’s El Gouna International.

El Sherbini has been in great form in Paris, overcoming France’s Camille Serme and Tomato Ho of Hong Kong in straight games before seeing off Olivia Weaver in the quarter finals.

World No.8 Elaraby came from behind to defeat the returning Joelle King in round one before coming out on top against Salma Hany in a five-game battle. The 24-year-old produced an excellent performance to down Nele Coll in three games for a semi final spot.

Can El Sherbini move a step closer to retaining her Paris Squash title, or can Elaraby claim her first win over the World No.1 on the PSA Squash Tour?

Ali Farag v Diego Elias

Reigning men’s champion Ali Farag meets World Champion Diego Elias in the first semi final in the men’s draw.

World No.1 Farag has the upper hand over Elias, winning 23 of their 27 matches they’ve played on the PSA Squash Tour. Their most recent clash came in the semi finals of the CIB Egyptian Open, where Farag won 3-0.

Farag, who defeated Elias in last year’s Paris Squash final, dispatched USA’s Timothy Brownell and Frenchman Gregoire Marche in the opening rounds before triumphing over England No.1 Mohamed ElShorbagy in the last eight.

World No.4 Elias defeated Iker Pajares and Youssef Soliman in straight games before defeating Karim Abel Gawad in a highly entertaining quarter final meeting.

Will Farag reach a second successive Paris Squash final or can Elias overcome the World No.1?

Hania El Hammamy v Nouran Gohar

Egyptian duo Hania El Hammamy and Nouran Gohar renew their rivalry once again as they contest for a place in tomorrow’s final.

World Champion Gohar has won 17 matches against El Hammamy, clinching the previous three at the backend of last season. El Hammamy last got the better of her compatriot at the London Classic.

World No.3 El Hammamy saw off Sabrina Sobhy and Jasmine Hutton to progress to the quarter finals, where she edged a tricky battle against youngster Fayrouz Aboelkheir 3-2.

After 3-0 wins over Nada Abbas and Tesni Murphy, Gohar came from behind to beat USA’s Amanda Sobhy 3-1 in the last eight.

Can Gohar extend her unbeaten run to four matches over El Hammamy, or will the World No.3 triumph on this occasion?

Mostafa Asal v Paul Coll

The evening’s action concludes with World No.3 Mostafa Asal and World No.2 Paul Coll locking horns.

Asal, who claimed the first major of the season with the Diamond-level CIB Egyptian Open, edges the head-to-head over Coll and has won the last two outings, including the British Open which Asal went on to win.

‘The Raging Bull’ has impressively yet to drop a game in Paris, notching 3-0 victories over Miguel Rodriguez, Leonel Cardenas and Mazen Hesham on the way to the last four.

Meanwhile Coll downed France’s Sebastien Bonmalais and Dimitri Steinmann 3-0 before claiming a 3-1 victory against Tarek Momen.

Can Asal continue his stellar form to advance to the final or will Coll claim his first win over the World No.3 since April?
