13 February 2023

The Oxford Properties Canadian Men’s Open Presented by Airsprint Private Aviation 2023 gets underway today from the Bow Valley Athletic Club in Calgary with 16 players looking to reach round two in the Bronze event.

Although the top eight seeds are only in action in round two there are still several entertaining round one fixtures coming up on the all-glass court in Calgary.

An all-USA clash between Faraz Khan and Andrew Douglas opens proceedings as both players will be looking to earn bragging rights over their compatriot. The fourth match of the day could be an absolute cracker as Mexico’s rising star Leonel Cardenas takes on Hong Kong’s Tsz Kwan Lau. The match is sure to be an entertaining one for the Canadian crowd with both players possessing great skill all over the court.

Three Canadian players feature in the final four matches of the day, starting off with both wildcards Connor Turk and Nick Sachvie, who will face Balazs Farkas and Cesar Salazar respectively. Canadian No.1 David Baillargeon will be hoping that the home support will give him a boost as he takes on England’s Nick Wall in the penultimate match of day one.

The action starts at 15:00 (GMT-7) from Calgary and will be available to watch LIVE on SQUASHTV. Live scores are available here.
