Optasia Championships 2024 – Quarter-Finals: Preview & How To Watch Live

The Optasia Championships 2024 quarter-finals get underway today, with eight matches to come from the all-glass court at the Wimbledon Squash Club in London.

Play will begin at 12:00 (GMT), with every second of action available to watch live on SQUASHTV.

No.5 seed Tesni Murphy and No.3 seed Nada Abbas will contest the opening match of the day, with both players on the hunt for a second semi-final appearance of the season. Elsewhere in the women’s draw, top seed Nele Gilis continues her quest for a third title of the season against No.8 seed Hana Moataz, while No.4 and No.7 seeds Satomi Watanabe and Melissa Alves square off in the first game of the evening session.

Meanwhile, in the men’s draw, World No.2 Paul Coll, a two-time Platinum winner this season, will face No.8 seed Baptiste Masotti, while No.3 seed Mostafa Asal takes on sixth seed Joel Makin.

A host of English players will be looking to progress to the last four in London, with No.4 seed Mohamed ElShorbagy set to take on No.5 seed and defending champion Karim Abdel Gawad in what looks a mouth watering contest. Meanwhile, and all-England duel between No.6 seed Jasmine Hutton and No.2 seed Sarah-Jane Perry is sure to draw a crowd.

Those in attendance should be treated to a blockbuster finale to quarter-finals day when World No.1 Ali Farag and World No.10 Marwan ElShorbagy lock horns. Both players came through their respective second-round matches against Dimitri Steinmann and Karim El Hammamy in straight games so will enter the game with fresh legs and plenty left in the tank.
