Motor City Open Final: The Stats & How to Watch Live

You can watch all the action from Detroit live on SQUASHTV – play begins at 17:00 (GMT-5).

Here’s the Order of Play for tonight
(All times are local GMT-5)

Mazen Hesham v Diego Elias

It’s been almost a seamless run through to the final for Elias, who has only dropped a solitary game – to wildcard Mohamed Abouelghar in round two – and recorded a fine win in straight games over the dangerous Tarek Momen in the semi-finals.

Hesham has also been in fine form, first ousting Mohamed ElSherbini before moving on to get the better of Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez in the last eight, vanquishing the demons of his defeat to the 37-year-old at last week’s J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions.

He backed it up with a 26-minute dismantling of fellow Egyptian Fares Dessouky in the semis – meaning he is just one win away from recording his second tournament win of the season, while he will appear in his first Motor City Open final.

Elias has already claimed two PSA title wins this campaign, winning the Tournament of Champions last week to add to a title haul that includes the U.S. Open.

Elias also has the better of the pair’s head-to-head record, with the 26-year-old winning eight of their 11 meetings on the PSA Tour.

Hesham has won none of the last five and will need to call on all of his shot-making talents if he is to claim his first win over the in-form Peruvian since 2019 – make sure you tune in to SQUASHTV tonight to watch the action unfold.
