Manchester Open 2024 – Day One: Preview & How To Watch Live

22 May 2024

The 2024 Manchester Open gets underway today, with 16 matches coming your way from the PSA World Tour Silver event at the National Squash Centre.

First-round action will be split across two glass courts, with play getting underway at 12:00 (GMT+1). Every second of squash will be available to watch live on SQUASHTV.

There will be plenty of home interest on the opening day of proceedings, with 13 English players taking to the two courts. Four of these matches will be all-England duels – notably World No.39 George Parker facing Manchester-born Finnlay Withington, and women’s Wildcard Saran Nghiem facing Alicia Mead.

Elsewhere, Millie Tomlinson will be looking to record win No.150 on the PSA Tour when she takes on Tesni Murphy, while Torrie Malik will be looking to build upon her impressive World Championships campaign, with the Englishwoman facing compatriot Grace Gear for a spot in Round 2.

Fresh off the back of victory at the 20k level CNS International Squash in Karachi, rising star Mohamad Zakaria will be hoping to record the first PSA World Tour victory of his career. The Egyptian teenager faces Simon Herbert in the last match of the day on Glass Court 2, with a second-round encounter against No.3 seed Youssef Soliman awaiting the winner.
