Makin continued his strong run of form by reaching the final of the Canary Wharf Classic for the first time.

The 28-year-old toppled the world’s top two – Mostafa Asal and Diego Elias – en route to the title decider. He ultimately went down in four games to New Zealand’s Paul Coll but has been rewarded with a superb week at East Wintergarden with a move back into the top 10 for the first time since October, 2022.
