King Withdraws from J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions

New Zealand’s World No.9 Joelle King has withdrawn from the upcoming J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions due to a back injury.

King has been absent from the PSA Tour since October’s U.S. Open and her withdrawal sees USA No.2 Olivia Weaver move up to the No.8 seeded position.

Weaver will receive a bye into round two, while Egypt’s Nada Abbas becomes one of the 9/16 seeds and also receives a bye into the last 32. Nadine Shahin moves up to become a 17/32 seed and will take on Egypt’s Nour Aboulmakarim in round one, while Finland’s Emilia Soini enters the draw and will go up against Hong Kong’s Tomato Ho.

Tickets for the event are available here, while live action will be streamed on SQUASHTV.  Matches from the semi-finals and finals will also be shown by PSA’s broadcast partners.
