Gohar & Farag Win PSA World Tour Players Of The Month For June

Egyptian duo Nouran Gohar and Ali Farag have been crowned the PSA World Tour Players of the Month for June.

Gohar, who’s now claimed back-to-back Player of the Month crowns, clinched June’s award with the majority of the votes of the poll on the PSA World Tour’s Instagram page with 59%, overcoming Nour El Sherbini and Olivia Weaver.

World Champion Gohar had another successful month, defeating El Sherbini in the final of the British Open to lift the trophy for the second time in her career.

The 26-year-old then downed El Sherbini again in the final of the Xbox PSA World Tour Finals in Bellevue to retain her title, and became the first woman to win the tournament on three occasions.

In the men’s vote, Farag won the June Player of the Month award with 52% the votes in a poll on the PSA World Tour’s Instagram page, beating Mostafa Asal and Joel Makin to the prize.

Despite being edged out by Asal in the British Open final, Farag clinched his maiden Xbox PSA World Tour Finals title – the World No.1’s eighth success of the season.
