Gohar and Asal Remain at No.1 in PSA World Rankings

Egyptian duo Nouran Gohar and Mostafa Asal head up an unchanged top 20 across both the women’s and men’s PSA World Rankings this week.

For Gohar, it’s a 54th successive week at World No.1. However, her ranking is at threat this week at the British Open in Birmingham. If Gohar fails to reach the final and current World No.3 Nour El Sherbini wins the title, then the latter will go back to the summit of the World Rankings next Monday.

Asal, meanwhile, celebrates a 13th straight week atop the men’s rankings, however he is guaranteed to lose top spot next week. Current World No.2 Diego Elias will replace Asal if he wins the British Open or if World No.3 Mohamed ElShorbagy loses in the semi-finals or earlier.

ElShorbagy also has the chance to go to No.1 if he wins the British Open or if he reaches the final and Elias fails to make the title decider.
