Former World No.2 Serme Qualifies For Paris Squash 2024

13 September 2024

Former World No.2 and 12-time French National champion Camille Serme has qualified for the main draw of Paris Squash 2024 – her first PSA Tour event since the 2021 Egyptian Open.

Serme, 35, defeated compatriot Enora Villard in the final of the Paris Squash Wildcard Play-Off earlier today by an 11-5, 11-3, 11-6 scoreline, to book a tantalising first-round date with World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the main draw of the Platinum-level event.

The 15-time PSA Tour winner – who is the most successful female French player of all time – announced her retirement from professional squash in June 2022, but will mark her return to PSA Tour action against defending champion El Sherbini this Sunday (15th September) at 13:15 (GMT+2) from the historic Cirque d’Hiver Bougilione.

Serme will be joined in the main draw by compatriot Auguste Dussourd, after he defeated Toufik Mekhalfi in his respective qualifying final by an 11-6, 11-4, 11-9 scoreline. The World No.33 will now face World No.5 Mazen Hesham in Round One of the main draw at 16:45 at the Squash Horizon club.

The match between Serme and top seed El Sherbini will be available to stream on the SQUASHTV YouTube channel for free, along with the rest of the opening session of glass-court action.

Dussourd’s encounter, along with every other match from Paris Squash 2024, can be watched live on SQUASHTV.
