Evans and Golan Withdraw From Upcoming J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions

Wales’ Tesni Evans and Spaniard Borja Golan have both withdrawn from the upcoming J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions.

The PSA World Tour Platinum level tournament will be held across multiple venues in New York City, with the glass court being housed in the amazing Vanderbilt Hall inside Grand Central Terminal.

Evans, the World No.12, has had to pull out of the event due to illness. She has been replaced in the draw by Latvian Ineta Mackevica. 

Canada’s Hollie Naughton moves up to the 9/16 seeding bracket and receives a bye, with Egypt’s Zeina Mickawy moving into the 17/32 bracket. Mickawy will now face compatriot Jana Shiha, with Mackevica coming into the draw and she will take on Malaysia’s Aifa Azman in the opening round of the competition.

In the men’s draw, former World No.5 Borja Golan has withdrawn from the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions due to a knee injury.

Golan has been replaced in the draw by England’s Nick Wall, who will now play American Shahjahan Khan in the first round of the tournament in New York City.
