England’s Marwan ElShorbagy has risen a spot to World No.9 following a quarter-final finish at last week’s Optasia Championships.

30-year-old ElShorbagy has overtaken Welshman Joel Makin to reach No.9, his highest ranking since January.
He beat Egypt’s Karim El Hammamy in round two before falling to a 3-0 defeat against World No.1 Ali Farag in the last eight.
Eain Yow Ng
Previous Ranking: No.21
New Ranking: No.20
Malaysia’s Eain Yow has returned to the top 20 after his points for last year’s GillenMarkets Canary Wharf Classic expired, meaning his points average has increased this week.
The 26-year-old replaces Qatar’s Abdulla Al-Tamimi in the top 20.

Scotland’s Greg Lobban has moved up to his highest ranking since November, 2023.
The 31-year-old saw his medical zero for the 2023 Canary Wharf Classic expire, meaning his points average has risen enough to see him move up a place and overtake Switzerland’s Nicolas Mueller.
