New Ranking: No.20

Previous Ranking: No.21

With points for the 2022 CIB Egyptian Open expiring, there have been a number of movements inside the top 20, and University of Pennsylvania graduate Aly Abou Eleinen has benefitted from Greg Lobban’s drop down the rankings as he moves into the top 20.

This time last year, Eleinen was ranked outside of the top 50, but the 23-year-old has enjoyed a steady rise up the rankings over the past 12 months and will return to Philadelphia for the U.S. Open between October 7-14.

Mohamed ElShorbagy

New Ranking: No.3

Previous Ranking: No.4

England’s Mohamed ElShorbagy rises back into the top three after two weeks outside it.

The former World No.1 profits from Mostafa Asal losing his semi-final points for last year’s CIB Egyptian Open and will look to close the gap on the top two – Ali Farag and Diego Elias – when he competes at the U.S. Open next month.

Joel Makin

New Ranking: No.8

Previous Ranking: No.9

Welshman Joel Makin reached the semi-finals of the Qatar Classic two weeks ago and has moved up to No.8, just one place behind his career-high ranking, with former World Champion Tarek Momen going the other way.

Miguel Rodriguez
