Canadian Men’s Open 2024 – Day Two: How to Watch Live

4 March 2024

It’s day two in Calgary for the Canadian Men’s Open as the top seeds enter the fray to face the round one winners in the PSA World Tour Silver level event.

All the action takes place on the all-glass court inside Bow Valley Square today, live on SQUASHTV with play starting at 12:00 (GMT-7).

Switzerland’s Dimitri Steinmann returns to PSA action this week and opens play on day two as he takes on Portugal’s Rui Soares for a place in round two. Steinmann featured in his first event since December in Chicago last week and will be determined to make up for the missed events as he searched for a quarter final place.

Home hopes now rest on the shoulders of No.8 seed David Baillargeon, who takes to the court in the third match of the round, facing Japan’s Ryunosuke Tsukue. The Japanese No.1 can be very dangerous and possesses great skill. The Canadian will need to be on his mettle to move past the World No.60.

Top seed Diego Elias is no stranger to success in Canada, as he picked up the Canada Squash Cup in 2020. The Peruvian has been overtake in the world rankings today by Paul Coll, dropping to No.3. Elias will be hoping that a win in Calgary this week will move him back to No.2 and give him some much needed momentum heading into larger events. He faces USA’s Todd Harrity to start his campaign.

Egypt’s Mazen Hesham is always a crowd favourite due to his incredible shot making abilities. He’ll be hoping to not just wow the Calgary crowd but put together another strong week to hunt down a place inside the world’s top 5, a milestone he has never reached. Hesham will play England’s Florida-based Tom Walsh at 18:45 (GMT-7) in his opening match of the tournament.
