British National Championships – Quarter Finals: Preview & How To Watch Live

17 August 2023

It’s quarter finals day at the 2023 British National Championships with 16 players looking to secure semi-final spots at St Georges Hill Squash Club in Weybridge, Surrey.

All but two seeds progressed through to the last eight in both draws yesterday, upsets both coming in the men’s draw with former World No.29 Joe Lee scoring a win over George Parker to make the final eight whilst qualifier Emyr Evans produced a passionate and accurate performance to defeat World No.55 Curtis Malik.

Joe Lee will now face No.2 seed Joel Makin for a semi-final spot and will be joined today by his brother Charlie, the No.7 seed, who features last on the all-glass court against No.3 seed and last year’s semi-finalist Patrick Rooney in what is sure to be a quality match up. Another exciting men’s match up features second in the order of play as Adrian Waller will face Yorkshire’s Nick Wall. Both players will be determined to reach the last four and will no doubt produce a competitive match.

All seeds progressed in the women’s draw yesterday to set up interesting quarter final match ups. The pick of which being defending champion Jasmine Hutton taking on former finalist Emily Whitlock. Hutton finds herself outside the top four seedings in this event but will be determined to score a win over a higher ranked opponent.

Top seeds Georgina Kennedy and Tesni Evans feature at 6pm and 3pm and will be hoping to keep their campaigns on track. Kennedy takes on Scotland’s only entry in the championships Georgia Adderley whilst Evans faces last year’s No.2 seed Lucy Turmel.

Play starts at 13:00 (GMT+1) and you can watch all the matches LIVE on SQUASHTV.
