Americans Fiechter and Clyne On The Rise In Women’s World Rankings

6 March 2023

The American duo of Olivia Fiechter and Olivia Clyne are among those to rise up the women’s world rankings this week.

Fiechter has moved back up to a joint-high in her career, moving ahead of England’s Georgina Kennedy to now occupy the World No.9 spot.

Meanwhile, Olivia Clyne has also risen a place in the women’s world rankings, moving ahead of Welsh No.1 Tesni Evans to now sit as the World No.14.

The other risers in the top 20 of the women’s world rankings were Belgium’s tinne Gilis and Frenchwoman Melissa Alves. Gilis, who claimed the Squash On Fire Open crown last Sunday, has moved above Egypt’s Salma Hany and is now the World No.12, just a place behind older sister Nele.

Alves, now the French No.1 following Camille Serme’s retirement, has moved back into the world’s top 20 for the first time in over twelve months. She rose a place to now occupy the World No.20 spot.

Elsewhere, Japan’s Satomi Watanabe (No.21), Egypt’s Jana Shiha (No.32), Hana Moataz (No.38), Fayrouz Aboelkheir (No.42) and Amina Orfi (No.61) have all risen to career-highs on Monday, March 6.

Egypt’s Habiba Hani was the biggest mover this week, rising 113 places to sit at a career-high of World No.254.
