Alves, Orfi & Ibrahim Withdraw From Upcoming Paris Squash 2024

Three players have unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Paris Squash 2024 in the last week. Egyptian duo Amina Orfi and Youssef Ibrahim are both out of the draw with Orfi facing travel issues whilst Ibrahim has not been able to recover from an injury in time for the event. Home favourite Melissa Alves is the latest to withdraw having also not been able to recover from an ongoing wrist injury in time for an event on home soil for her.

In the men’s draw, England’s Nathan Lake has replaced the injured Ibrahim and faces Switzerland’s Dimitri Steinmann in the first round, with the winner set to take on either Sebastien Bonmalais or No.2 seed Paul Coll.

Egypt’s Mariam Metwally has taken the place of compatriot Orfi and faces USA No.1 Olivia Weaver in the opening round. Whilst in the bottom half of the draw, the injured Alves has been replaced by Malaysia’s Aifa Azman. The Malaysian No.3 will face England’s Georgina Kennedy for a spot in the second round.

Action gets underway on Sunday 15 September across three venues in the French capital, all courts will be streamed live on SQUASHTV.
