St Louis Open SF: All British Final Set

24 September 2022

It will be an all-British final at the St Louis Open presented by Mosby Building Arts, with Scotland’s Rory Stewart and England’s Curtis Malik winning their respective last four clashes in straight games to make it through to the final.

Stewart, the tournament’s top seed, came up against the unseeded Aly Hussein in his last four contest on Friday evening, with the Egyptian having already taken out two of the seeds en route to the semis. However, there would no repeat in the last four, as the Scot dropped just 11 points en route to making the final, winning in straight games.

He will now face Curtis Malik, after the No.4 seed came through the all-English clash with Charlie Lee on semi-finals day. Like Stewart, he won in straight games, but it was much closer for the Englishman, with two of the three games going to tie-breaks. He won both of those 12-10, along with an 11-5 scoreline in the second game, to advance to the final.

The final of the St Louis Open presented by Mosby Building Arts will take place on Saturday, September 24, where Rory Stewart and Curtis Malik will go head-to-head for the Challenger 10 level crown at the Missouri Athletic Club.
