Poznan Open SF: Senthilkumar To Face Top Seed Damming

The final of the SNS Foods Poznan Open is set, with No.8 seed Velavan Senthilkumar set to face top seed Rowan Damming for the title.

The Indian had already gotten the better of No.2 seed Robert Downer in the quarter finals, and he came up against No.5 seed Nilo Vidal in the last four of the Challenger 3 level competition at the 11Punkt Squash Klub in Poznan, Poland.

Senthilkumar needed less than half an hour to get the job done in the semis on Friday night, overcoming the Spaniard 11-7, 11-5, 11-4 to move through to the sixth final of his career.

He wil now take on reigning World Junior Champion Rowan Damming, the tournament’s top seed. The Dutchman lost the opening game to Scotland’s Alasdair Prott 16-14, but fought back strongly. Damming claimed the second 11-6, before then winning the third and fourth by 11-7 scorelines, to reach the final in Poznan.
