Kiva Open SF: American Huang to Face Top Seed Reyes In Final

6 May 2023

Home hope Dillon Huang is through to the final of the Kiva Open in Santa Fe, where he will take on top seed Alejandro Reyes for the title.

Huang came into the Challenger 5 level competition as the No.6 seed, and he took on No.5 seed Luis Quisquinay in the semis. The American opened up a one-game lead twice in the contest, only to see Quisquinay fight back to level the match on both occasions.

The Guatemalan did so with a 14-12 score-line in the fourth, where Huang had his chances to finish the match. Although the American couldn’t do so in the fourth, he was able to win it in the fifth. He took the deciding game 11-5 to advance to his first Tour final.

The American will now face top seed Alejandro Reyes in the final on Saturday. The Mexican dispatched No.4 seed Laszlo Godde, dropping just 11 points on route to an 11-2, 11-5, 11-4 straight games victory.
