Jeu de Paume: Allinckx Downs Three Of Top Four To Win

Switzerland’s Ambre Allinckx went on an incredible run in Paris this week to win the Open Feminin du Jeu de Paume.

The former World No.68 came into the tournament as the No.8 seed, and started her week with a commanding performance. She got the better of Hungary’s Kincso Szasz in straight games, dropping just nine points to take the victory.

She then downed the No.4 seed for the competition, Frenchwoman Ella Galova, in a four-game battle, dropping just a couple of points in each of the last two games. Allinckx then moved through to the final after defeated Irish No.1 Breanne Flynn inside 20 minutes in the semis.

The final saw the Swiss player take on home favourite Taba Taghavi, and she was in control throughout. Allinckx won the first game 11-5, before then taking the second game by an even bigger margin. The third was tighter, but the World No.133 came through to win in three, claiming the crown in Paris.
