Hana Moataz & Ravindu Laksiri Named As PSA Challenger Tour Players of the Month For October

Egypt’s Hana Moataz & Sri Lanka’s Ravindu Laksiri have been named as October’s PSA Challenger Tour Players of the Month after both scoring impressive tournament victories.

Moataz’s first event of the month came at the Life Time Chicago Open 2022 Walker & Dunlop – The Hussain Family. The Egyptian came in as the No.2 seed and overcame a huge five-set battle with Scotland’s No.3 seed Georgia Adderley before beating compatriot Kenzy Ayman in the final 3-1 to lift the Challenger 10 title.

She then went onto win her following tournament, The Hamilton Open 2022 Challenger 20 event. Moataz was the No.7 seed and repeated wins over Ayman & Adderley to reach the final, then defeated England’s Lucy Beecroft in the final, 3-1 in 39 minutes.

Sri Lanka’s World No.200 Ravindu Laksiri claimed success at the 2nd Bangabandhu Squash Tournament 2022 presented by Ishaphani Ltd in October in strong fashion.

The 26-year-old overcame No.5 seed Sepehr Etemadpoor to advance to the quarter finals where he defeated the event’s No.2 seed Duncan Lee in an hour long five-set contest to reach the final four. He then made light work of No.4 seed Amir Amirul from Malaysia before despatching Egypt’s Ziad Ibrahim 3-1 in the final to claim the first title of his career.
