Life Time Dallas Open SF: Douglas To Face Top Seed Wall

15 May 2022

The dream run continued at the Life Time Dallas Open for unseeded Amrican Andrew Douglas, as he got the better of a seeded opponent for the third day in succession, as he makes his way into the final of the Challenger 10 level tournament.

Having gotten the better of the No.2 seed Spencer Lovejoy in the opening round of the competition, Douglas followed that with a confident victory over No.7 seed Michael McCue to make it through to the last four where he would come up against No.6 seed Nick Sachvie.

After disposing of one Canadian already, the American found himself level after two games against Sachvie, with the No.6 seed coming back from being a game down. Douglas took the third 11-9, and that was crucial, as he took the momentum into the fourth game, one he would win 11-5 to book his place in the final in Plano.

The World No.129 will now face top seed Nick Wall in the final, after the Englishman came through his last four contest with Germany’s Yannik Omlor, overcoming the tournament’s No.4 seed in straight games, to move into yet another final.

The final of the Challenger 10 level Life Time Dallas Open will take place on Sunday, May 15, with Wall and Douglas going head-to-head for the title.
