British Open Day One: How To Watch Live

The 2022 Allam British Open gets underway today at the Allam Sport Centre at the University of Hull, with 96 of the world’s best players looking to take home the Platinum level title come the end of the week.

The top 16 seeds in both draws receive a bye through to the second round, and therefore do not play today, but there are still 32 matches taking place across four courts, with eight of those on the stunning glass court.

Play gets underway at 12:00 (GMT+1), and you can watch glass court action at the Allam British Open live on *SQUASHTV*, with play from the side courts being streamed on the *SQUASHTV Youtube channel*.

The first day’s play begins with one of four wildcards in action at the tournament, as England’s Katie Malliff, who recently secured her spot at the 2021-2022 PSA World Championships following a victory at the Val de Reuil Normandie, will take on Canada’s Danielle Letourneau.

Nick Wall, Sam Todd and Millie Tomlinson, the other three wildcards for the event, will also be in action on the glass court, facing off against France’s Victor Crouin and Baptiste Masotti, and Scotland’s Lisa Aitken, respectively.

There will be an all-English clash between Patrick Rooney and Declan James, while compatriots Lucy Turmel and Nathan lake will also be on the glass on the opening day, against Egypt’s Sana Ibrahim and Frenchman Auguste Dussourd, respectively.

There will be eight matches on each of the side courts, Courts 4, 5 and 6, with a plethora of nations represented, including Germany, Latvia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Scotland and South Africa, among many others.

The Allam British Open gets underway today at the Allam Sports Centre in Hull, with 96 players aiming to try and claim the sport’s oldest prizes.

64 of those 96 will be in action on the opening day of the Platinum level tournament, with the glass court in action, along with three traditional plaster courts.

There are plenty of home hopes in action, including nine of those playing on the glass court. Wildcard Georgina Kennedy will kick off the day’s action on the glass, up against Malaysia’s Sivasangair Subramaniam. The likes of Daryl Selby, Borja Golan, Emily Whitlock and George Parker will also be in action on the glass on day one.

There will also be plenty of action on the side courts at the Allam Sports Centre, with 24 matches taking place across Courts 4, 5 & 6. Spain’s Cristina Gomez starts off the day against South African No.1 Alexandra Fuller on Court 4, with Zeina Mickawy and Nicole Bunyan starting off on Court 5. Court 6 begins with Canadian Danielle Letourneau and Latvian No.1 Ineta Mackevica.
