It’s day one of the Windy City Open Presented by the Walter Family as the PSA World Tour stops in Chicago for the Platinum event.

There will be action across four courts today and the SQUASHTV cameras will be there to catch it all as the tournament takes place between February 23 – March 3.

The first day’s play of the 2020 Windy City Open presented by the Walter Family takes place today, with the University Club of Chicago playing host to the tournament.

For the first time since 2018, the Windy City Open returns to the PSA World Tour calendar, after it was replaced by the PSA World Championships last February, which took place in the spectacular Union Station.

The University Club of Chicago becomes the host venue for the PSA World Tour Platinum event once again, with four courts in action on the first two days of the event.

The first day’s play features all 32 first round matches, as both the men’s and women’s draws get underway, with eight of those clashes coming on the glass court, play beginning at 12:00 (GMT-6).

There will be four Americans in action on home soil, with three of those featuring on the stunning glass court at the University Club of Chicago.

Shahjahan Khan is the wildcard in the men’s draw, and he was face Hong Kong No.1 Leo Au, while Olivia Fiechter and Sabrina Sobhy both feature in the women’s draw, up against Australia’s Donna Lobban and Egypt’s Nada Abbas, respectively.

Haley Mendez is the other American in action on the opening day of the tournament, as she faces Belgium No.2 Tinne Gilis on one of the side courts in use for the first couple of days.

Elsewhere on the side courts, there is an all-Egyptian battle between Mohamed ElSherbini and Mazen Hesham, which follows an all-Hong Kong Classic between Joey Chan and Tsz-Wing Tong.

Declan James, Campbell Grayson, Iker Pajares, Borja Golan and Mathieu Castagnet are some of the big names in action in the men’s draw on the side courts, while the likes of Milou van der Heijden, Hollie Naughton and former World No.1 Rachael Grinham will also feature.
