Kinetic 3k Challenger: Walsh Claims Second Tour Title

England’s Tom Walsh second his second win on Tour in the space of just a few months, after he claimed the title at the Kinetic 3k Challenger Presented by Sundip Murthy in Boynton Beach, Florida.

The Challenger 3 level tournament saw entrants from nine different countries, with Walsh being one of two Englishman in the 16-strong draw, alongside compatriot Mark Broekman.

The top seed, and World No.112, came through his first three matches of the tournament without dropping a game, as he beat Ireland’s Stu Hadden, Mexico’s No.5 seed Miled Zarazua and fellow Englishman Broekman, all in straight games.

He then faced the unseeded Jeremias Azana in the final, with the Argentinian having already beaten three seeded players en route, including the event’s No.3 seed, Pakistan’s Ahsan Ayaz.

However, the final would be one step too far for the Argentinian, as Walsh claimed victory in just over an hour, winning in four games to secure his second Tour title, just three months after his maiden win at the Exeter Golf and Country Club Open.
