KCC Challenge Cup: Tournament Preview

The only event on the Challenger Tour this week to be held on Asian soil will be the KCC PSA Challenge Cup, which will be held at Kowloon Cricket Club from Wednesday 1 to Saturday 4 December.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Challenger 5 level tournament is being held with domestic restrictions, allowing only those currently living in the nation to participate.

Despite that, there will be three foreign players in action. Spain’s Gonzalo Romero and Canadian Ho Ka On will be in action in the men’s draw, while Singaporean No.1 Paige Hill will be the No.7 seed in the women’s event.

Cheng Nga Ching, the World No.193, will be the top seed for the women’s tournament, with Tam Mariko Cho Ngs, Toby Tse and Wai Sze Wing, all level at World No.216 in the rankings, as the rest of the top four seeds.

World No.180 Harley Lam will be the top seed in the men’s draw, and his nearest competitors will be Matthew Lai and Chung Yat Long, the other two players in the draw inside the top 250 in the World Rankings.
