Romanian Open: Tournament Preview

The Challenger 5 level Romanian Open begins on Friday 19, with action taking place across three days at Squash Club Cluj-Napoca.

The tournament will see 16 players from 11 nations in action in Cluj-Napoca, with six of those nationalities amongst the top eight seeds. Hungary’s Farkas Balazs will be the top seed for the event.

Switzerland’s Robin Gadola, Welshman Elliott Morris Devred, England’s Ben Smith and Israeli No.1 Daniel Poleshchuk are all in action, with the Indian trio of Abhishek Pradhan, Abhishek Agarwal and Aadit Zaveri.

A quartet of Romanians will be participating on home soil, with World No.635 Bogdan Vasile as the highest-ranked. Dumitru Golan, Radu Pena and Richard Dragomir will also feature.
