The Hamilton Open: Yuk Claims Third Crown Of 2021

Hong Kong’s Chan Sin Yuk has secured her third victory of the year with a knockout run in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as she downed three of the top six seeds en route to the title.

The World No.89 was unseeded for the tournament, and she started in the opening round with a comfortable victory over wildcard Cate Costin, before then beating No.6 seed Wen Li Lai to make it through to the last eight.

The Hongkonger came through a 45-minute five-game battle in the quarter finals, beating England’s Lucy Beecroft 11-9 in the deciding game. From then on, she took out the top two seeds.

Sin Yuk came up against No.2 seed Ineta Mackevica in the semis, winning in four games to make it through to the final, where she would face top seed Emilia Soini. The final lasted just 20 minutes, with the World No.89
