CIB Black Ball Open RD1: Mosaad Dominates Yow
Egypt’s World No.17 Omar Mosaad secured passage through to the last 16 of the CIB Black Ball Squash Open courtesy of a 3-0 win over Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng.
Mosaad, known on tour as ‘The Hammer of Thor’, had won both of their previous meetings and stormed to an 11-8, 11-5, 11-6 victory in 43 minutes.
There was a clash of styles with Mosaad – who stands at 6 foot 3 inches – towering over the diminutive Eain Yow by almost a foot.
And the larger man dominated proceedings to set up a last 16 fixture with either World No.1 Ali Farag or Spain’s Iker Pajares Bernabeu.
“I’m feeling pretty good, I think I did a good job today, especially on the mental side,” Mosaad said.
“I had a couple of weeks training after Qatar, so I pushed squash, mental training and everything and I’m really happy for my win today. If you lose you learn something, so I’ve done a lot of stuff in the last couple of weeks.
“I’m in good shape, I played well and anything can happen, if you play well, you can win.”
