HCL SRFI Delhi: Top Seeds Safely Through to Quarter Finals

The top seeds are all through to the quarter finals of the Delhi Leg of the HCL SRFI Indian Tour, a qualifying event for the CIB PSA Women’s World Championships in Egypt in October.

No.1 seed Farida Mohamed overcame Urwashi Joshi in less than 20 minutes to secure her passage through to the last eight of the tournament, where she will face compatriot, and No.7 seed Hana Moataz.

No.2 seed Salma Youssef also needed less than 20 minutes to get through her second round clash in Delhi, as she got past Sanika Choudhari in straight games.

No.3 seed Menna Hamed needed only 17 minutes in her last 16 match-up with Abhisheka Shannon, as she allowed the Indian to score just eight points on her way to the quarter finals in Delhi.

Hamed will face Ananya Dabke, the only unseeded player through to the last eight in Delhi. The Indian overcame compatriot, and No.8 seed, Sanya Vats, in a five-game thriller, needing to win a fifth game tie-break 12-10 to advance.
