XII Torneo Internacional PSA Sporta: Tournament Preview

The XII Torneo Internacional PSA Sporta gets underway this afternoon with two of the world’s top ten male players in action at the PSA World Tour Bronze event, taking place from May 29-June 2.

The tournament – which is men’s only – is being held in Guatemala, the most westernly country of the Central American region, with a total prize pot of $52,500.

The five-day event will take place in the Vista Real Complex, with the top eight seeds all having the first day of competition off before entering the tournament at the second round stage.

Colombia’s World No.7 Miguel Rodriguez and Peru’s World No.8 Diego Elias are the top two seeds for the event, and are seeded to meet each other in the final on Sunday afternoon.

The Mexican brothers, Cesar and Arturo Salazar are also seeded, along with Scotland’s Greg Lobban, US No.2 Chris Hanson and the Egyptian pair of Karim El Hammamy and Mazen Gamal.

There is also Guatemalan interest in the draw, as World No.137 Josue Enriquez will face France’s Auguste Dussourd in the first round later on today.
