Start Times

Nour EL Sherbini v Nouran Gohar

In the women’s final, World No.1 Nour El Sherbini takes on reigning World Champion Nouran Gohar in a clash that has become all too familiar to the squash world for all the right reasons.

The pair met in the 2024 Egyptian Open finals, in which El Sherbini ended the long-enduring winning streak that Gohar earned at the end of last season to win the first-ever Diamond event title.

El Sherbini has the better head-to-head record over her compatriot, winning 23 of their 35 meetings on the PSA Tour.

El Sherbini reached the final with a strong 3-0 performance over Egypt’s Rowan Elaraby, while Gohar battled past World No.3 Hania El Hammamy in a 71-minute thriller.

Ali Farag v Mostafa Asal

World No.1 and reigning Paris Squash men’s champion Ali Farag meets 2024 Egyptian Open champion Mostafa Asal in the men’s final.

Farag has the better record against his Egyptian compatriot, winning 18 of their 25 clashes, but Asal, in winning the first-ever Diamond event, defeated the top seed in their last encounter.

The No.1 seed faced an epic 95-minute match in his semi-finals as he took down Peru’s Diego Elias and will be hoping the fatigue from that match, that saw Farag cramping during his post-match interview, won’t play a factor tonight.

On the other hand, ‘The Raging Bull’ participated in an equally brutal semi-final clash against ‘Superman’ Paul Coll. The 83-minute bout saw Asal come back from 2-0 behind to claim his spot in the final for a chance to win his second major title of the 2024-25 season.
