Vote for the PSA Challenger Tour Women’s Player of the Year

21 May 2024

Voting is now open for the 2023-24 PSA Challenger Tour Women’s Player of the Year.

Fans have the chance to vote for who they believe is the best women’s player from the 2023-24 season in the poll below.

Votes will be combined with the votes made by the PSA Awards Committee – a group consisting of selected influential former players, members of the media, tournament promoters and PSA Board representatives.

Voting will close at 23:59 (GMT+1) on Monday May 27, with the winner announced at the PSA Awards dinner held at The Book Rotunda in Birmingham on Saturday June 8 following the semi-finals of the British Open.

Take a look to see who has been shortlisted and cast your vote for the winner below..

Marina Stefanoni

The latest star to progress through Harvard’s prestigious squash programme, Marina Stefanoni has continued to impress on the PSA Tour this season, winning two further titles to add to the six she already had.

Those wins came at the 9k Windsor City Open and then the 15k St. James Open presented by Argent Bridge Advisors, marking the biggest honours of her PSA Tour career so far.

She also reached the semi-finals of two 20k events and maintained her top-60 ranking from the season’s start, despite balancing her professional career with her senior year studies.

Menna Walid

No women’s player has won more Challenger Tour titles this season than Egypt’s Menna Walid, who has four trophies under her belt from the past nine months.

The 20-year-old, who had never won a PSA Tour title before this season, got her first pieces of silverware with back-to-back victories in Africa, winning 3k events in Johannesburg and then Namibia.

She then claimed further 3k glory in Egypt and the USA, the latter of which earned her a spot at the World Tour Squash On Fire Open, in which she reached the quarter-finals.

Nardine Garas

Another player to have come through Cairo’s famous Wadi Degla club, Nardine Garas added two more titles to her résumé this season.

After winning her first 15k crown in the USA in January, Garas claimed the Odense Open 12k title in March, beating compatriot Amina El Rihany to the trophy.

That result also maintained her 100% record in PSA Tour finals and helped keep her inside the world’s top 70.

Rana Ismail

Rounding out the shortlist is 21-year-old Rana Ismail.

Ismail had just a single PSA tour title to her name prior to this season, but added a further three across the past nine months, each at a higher level than the one before.

The first of those was the 6k International Tournament Madeira Island in 2023, with Ismail going on to clinch a 9k and a 15k in back-to-back weeks on Canadian soil in 2024.

Among the highlights of that run were wins over top-50 players Marie Stephan and Tsz-Wing Tong en route to glory in Vancouver, capping a memorable fortnight in the Great White North.
