World No.8 Tarek Momen Withdraws From Upcoming GillenMarkets London Squash Classic 2024

21 March 2024

Egypt’s former World Champion Tarek Momen has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the upcoming London Classic 2024 after sustaining a sprained ankle during training. The former World Champion was looking to continue his consistent form and earn valuable points for both his world ranking and World Tour Finals ranking, but won’t be competing in the Gold event.

Compatriot Aly Abou Eleinen will now move into a top eight seeding position and will receive a bye in round one. He will open his account on Thursday against either Germany’s Raphael Kandra or England’s Nathan Lake.

France’s Auguste Dussourd has now moved into a 9/16 seeding position and will face the incoming reserve player which will be England’s George Parker. That match will take place at 16:15 on day one with the winner facing Wales’ No.6 seed Joel Makin in round two.

Round one action will take place across two courts at Coolhurst Squash Club, both of which will be available to watch live on SQUASHTV.
