England’s Georgina Kennedy Returns To Highest Rank World No.6 in Latest PSA Women’s World Rankings

England’s Georgina Kennedy has returned back to her highest ranking of World No.6 in today’s latest PSA Women’s World Rankings update. The 27-year-old recorded only her second semi-final finish at a Platinum event last week at the Windy City Open 2024. Kennedy defeated World No.4 Nele Gilis in the quarter finals before falling to World No.1 and eventual champion Nour ElSherbini in the final four clash.

Kennedy dropped to World No.9 last week due to the impressive form of Olivia Weaver and points from 2023 leaving her total, But the Englishwoman will be relieved to see her name back amongst the top six as she gears up for a strong remainder of the season.

USA’s Sabrina Sobhy and Japan’s Satomi Watanabe have both moved up two places in the latest update. Sobhy now sits just one place off her highest mark at World No.14, overtaking Sivasangari Subramaniam and Sarah-Jane Perry. Whilst Watanabe has broken back inside the top 20 having dropped out of it last week.

After her win in Chicago, Nour ElSherbini has extended her lead at the top of the women’s rankings even further with over 700 points separating her and Hania El Hammamy. The latter will face tough completion to keep hold of the No.2 spot in the next event as former World No.1 Nouran Gohar is now only 0.9 away from the 23-year-old, making the next event crucial for the World No.2 spot.
