Weekend RoundUp: Low Records Second Successive Title Since Comeback

30 July 2018

Malaysia’s World No.254 Low Wee Wern recorded her second successive title at the City of Devonport Tasmanian Open as she came through qualifying to defeat top seed Australia’s former World No.1 Rachael Grinham.

Low continues her strong return to the PSA World Tour after a 20-month absence due to a serious knee injury. The former World No.5 recently won the Malaysian Open last week and backed this up as she knocked out number two seed Satomi Watanabe – who she defeated in the final of the Malaysian Open – en route to the final.

Low then faced Grinham in the final as she dispatched the former World Champion and World No.1 in straight-games in just 33 minutes by an 11-6, 11-7, 12-10 scoreline to win her ninth PSA World Tour title.
