Players pay tribute to Nick Matthew as he hangs up his racket

25 May 2018

Legendary Englishman Nick Matthew exited his final PSA World Tour event last week when he brought down the curtain on a wonderful career at the Allam British Open.

Matthew – a three-time British Open winner – is one of the greatest English players in history and signalled the end of his career after bowing out to Raphael Kandra in the second round in Hull.

The Yorkshireman has locked horns with all the stars of the modern game and many – including Mohamed ElShorbagy, James Willstrop, Ramy Ashour and Gregory Gaultier – took time out to pay tribute to the 37-year-old after his emotional farewell to the professional game.
