TTI Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2023 – Quarter Finals: Preview & How to Watch Live

30 November 2023

We’ve reached the quarter final stage in the fourth Platinum event the 2023/24 season at the TTI Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open 2023 with eight top quality matches lined up to determine who will be moving into the final four.

Belgium’s Tinne Gilis and USA’s Amanda Sobhy open up play on quarters day. The pair are currently tied at 1-1 in the head-to-head with Gilis scoring the last win between the two at the El Gouna International in 2022. Both will be hopeful of solid performances to score a place in the final four.

Top seed Nour El Sherbini avoided a huge shock in round three after she overcame Hong Kong’s Chan Sin Yuk in five games to progress. She now faces Japan’s Satomi Watanabe in the quarters, a dangerous opponent for any player on her day.

Two all-Egyptian clashes are up next as No.1 and No.3 seeds Ali Farag and Mostafa Asal take on Mazen Hesham and Tarek Momen. Both match ups have produced quality battles in the past and the Hong Kong crowd will be hoping for two more tomorrow.

The bottom half women’s quarter finals are just as exciting as the top half as Rowan Elaraby will take on No.2 seed Hania El Hamammy in the fifth match of the days play whilst Belgium’s Nele Gilis will be hoping that she’s saved her best squash for the later stages as she takes on in-form Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam.

Two stellar matches will complete the semi-final line ups as a clash between two friends Paul Coll and Diego Elias will take place once again. The two have met 12 times on the PSA World Tour, with the record currently level at 6-6. These two rarely disappoint.

After not playing against each other since October 2022, ElShorbagy brothers Mohamed and Marwan will face off against each other for the second successive tournament to close out the day. Marwan recently took a five game encounter against Mohamed in Singapore. You better believe that Mohamed will be out for revenge against his younger brother with a semi-final spot up for grabs.

Play starts at 12:00 (GMT+8) with action available to watch on SQUASHTV. Alternatively, you can keep track of the live scores here.
