Weekend RoundUp: Hanson Clinches Atlantic Squash Championships Title

9 April 2018

United States World No.76 Chris Hanson sealed the Vogue Optical Atlantic Squash Championships as he defeated Mexico’s World No.212 Mario Yanez in straight-games in the final.

Top seed Hanson was in strong form throughout the week, not dropping a single game en route to claiming the PSA M5 title.

Meanwhile his opponent, Yanez, also enjoyed a successful week as he surprised two of the top seeds – knocking out number five seed England’s Lewis Doughty and number two seed Canada’s Nick Sachvie on his way to his maiden PSA World Tour final.

The Mexican, however, was unable to carry on his big upsets in the tournament as he fell to Hanson who completed a comprehensive 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 victory in 34 minutes to claim his third PSA World Tour title.
