El Tayeb Back up to No.6 Following Houston Triumph
Egypt’s Nour El Tayeb has moved up two places to No.6 in this week’s PSA Women’s World Rankings following her triumph over USA’s Amanda Sobhy in the final of the South Western Open presented by Cotidié yesterday.

El Tayeb captured the 14th title of her career last night after she came back from a game down to overcome No.2 seed Sobhy, winning 9-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-5 in 42 minutes.
It was El Tayeb’s first PSA title of the 2023-24 season and her first since May of this year. The win has seen her move up two spots to No.6, with England’s Georgina Kennedy and Belgium’s Nele Gilis going the other way.
Olivia Clyne

Despite a disappointing second round exit at the hands of Egypt’s Nada Abbas in Houston, Olivia Clyne has done enough to rise to No.13.
Sobhy’s younger sister – Sabrina – moves down to No.14 as a result.

Abbas celebrated reaching her first PSA World Tour Gold semi-final in Houston after upsetting USA duo Clyne and Olivia Fiechter en route to the last four.
She narrowly came undone against Amanda Sobhy in a back-and-forth five-game battle, but the 23-year-old has been rewarded with a move back into the top 20 for the first time since March of this year.

Wales’ Emily Whitlock is on the rise, moving up three places to No.23.
The 29-year-old reached the quarter-finals in Houston, falling to eventual runner-up Amanda Sobhy.
