The Hague Open: Mangaonkar Claims Ninth PSA Title

Event top seed Mahesh Mangaonkar claimed his ninth PSA title yesterday as he overcame Wales’ Owain Taylor in straight games to lift the Hague Open 2023 title.

The Indian was appearing in his 20th PSA final whilst Taylor, just his second. Mangaonkar started the better of the two and used his front-court attacking abilities to move Taylor into the front two corners regularly, taking chunks out of the Welshman’s physicality.

After taking the opening game 11-7, the Indian stepped his level up even further, mixed with a drop off from Taylor. Mangaonkar won the final two games 11-4, 11-1 to take the title, the ninth of his career.
