2 October 2017

England’s World No.38 Adrian Waller claimed the DPD Open M25 title after beating compatriot World No.40 Declan James in the final.

Waller -whose last title came in 2015 at the NSCI Open JSW Indian Squash Circuit when he beat India’s Mahesh Mangaonkar – saw off his fellow Englishman James over a gruelling five-game encounter to lift his biggest PSA World Tour title as he won by an 11-4, 7-11, 12-10, 8-11, 11-3 scoreline in 72 minutes.

Meanwhile, at the Barcelona Squash Open Spain’s World No.64 Iker Pajares Bernabeu and England’s World No.71 Lucy Turmel secured the men and women’s titles, respectively.

Bernabeu beat compatriot Edmon Lopez in the men’s final in straight games by an 11-6, 12-10, 11-7 scoreline to claim his sixth PSA World Tour title.

Whilst, Turmel beat Wales Deon Saffery in a five-game thriller as she came through by an 14-16, 12-10, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9 scoreline to lift her maiden PSA World Tour title.
